At Thrive Connect Succeed, we respect your privacy and understand the importance of protecting personal information. This is especially important when our programs involve children and young people.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Thrive Connect Succeed may collect, why we collect it, how it may be used and stored, and the choices available to individuals, parents and carers.
1. Who We Are
Thrive Connect Succeed provides educational programs, resources and practical learning experiences designed to support children, young people, parents, families, schools and communities.
Our programs may be accessed directly by individuals and families or through participating schools and community organisations.
Some programs may also be offered as pilot programs while they are being evaluated and improved.
2. Information We May Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with Thrive Connect Succeed.
It may include:
name and contact details
email address
information provided when making an enquiry or purchasing or accessing a program
parent or carer contact details
a child's age or year level
broad geographic information, such as metropolitan, regional, rural or remote location
program enrolment and completion information
responses to surveys and program evaluations
feedback about our programs
information about accessibility or support required to participate
technical information necessary to provide or improve our online services
correspondence sent to Thrive Connect Succeed.
We aim to collect only information that is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is being collected. We do not intentionally collect detailed personal histories or sensitive information from children simply for the purpose of evaluating our programs.
Some Thrive Connect Succeed programs are specifically designed for children and young people, including children under 16 years of age.
We recognise that children and young people deserve particular care when their personal information is collected, used or stored. We aim to collect only the minimum amount of personal information reasonably necessary to provide, evaluate and improve our programs.
Where appropriate, we seek permission from a parent or carer before a child participates in a program pilot or evaluation. We also provide children and young people with information about what they are being asked to do in language appropriate to their age and seek their agreement to participate.
Parent or carer permission does not mean a child is required to answer every evaluation question. Children and young people may choose not to answer an evaluation question that makes them uncomfortable and are not required to disclose private or personal experiences in order to participate.
Thrive Connect Succeed's website and online programs are currently hosted using Podia. Podia's Privacy Policy states that it does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under 16 and that children under 16 should not register for or otherwise use its services or provide personal data directly to Podia.
Thrive Connect Succeed therefore takes additional care when determining how programs designed for children under 16 are accessed and how their information is collected. We aim to avoid requiring children under 16 to create individual accounts or provide personal information directly to a third-party platform where that platform does not permit such use.
Parents and carers will be provided with information about how their child will access a program and how any personal or evaluation information will be collected before participation.
Where possible, evaluation information will be linked to a participant code rather than the child's name, and identifying information will be kept separate from evaluation responses.
Thrive Connect Succeed programs may contain reflection activities, Field Guide exercises and questions designed to help participants think about themselves, their experiences, choices and relationships.
Not everything a participant writes or thinks about as part of a program is evaluation data. Where an activity is intended for private reflection, it will not automatically be collected or used as part of program evaluation.
Where information is being collected for evaluation purposes, we aim to make this clear to participants. Participants are not expected to disclose private or personal experiences simply to complete a Thrive Connect Succeed program.
5. Why We Collect Information
We may collect and use information to:
provide access to our programs and resources
communicate with participants, parents, carers, schools and organisations
process registrations or purchases
administer pilot programs
understand whether participants complete and engage with programs
evaluate whether programs achieve their intended learning and wellbeing outcomes
identify areas where programs can be improved
understand accessibility and usability
respond to questions, feedback or concerns
maintain appropriate business and administrative records
meet legal, safeguarding or regulatory requirements where applicable.
6. Pilot and Evaluation Information
Thrive Connect Succeed may conduct pilot programs and evaluations to understand whether our programs are effective, appropriate, engaging and accessible. Evaluation may include:
pre-program surveys
post-program surveys
short session check-ins
participant feedback
parent or carer feedback
educator or organisation feedback
program completion information
optional follow-up surveys.
Where possible, evaluation information will be associated with a participant code rather than the participant's name.
Evaluation results may be combined to identify patterns and changes across groups of participants. De-identified or aggregated findings may be used in:
program evaluation reports
program improvement
information provided to schools or organisations
funding applications
tender or procurement applications
reports about program outcomes
professional or promotional information describing the evidence supporting a program.
We will not intentionally identify an individual child in these materials without separate appropriate permission.
7. Feedback and Testimonials
Providing feedback as part of a program evaluation does not automatically give Thrive Connect Succeed permission to use a participant's name, photograph, personal story or comments as a public testimonial.
If we would like to use identifiable feedback, a quotation, image or story for promotional purposes, separate permission will be requested.
For children and young people, appropriate parent or carer permission will also be sought where required.
8. How Information Is Stored
Personal and evaluation information may be stored electronically using the systems and service providers used by Thrive Connect Succeed to operate its website, online programs, communications, surveys and business administration.
We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Access to identifiable pilot and evaluation information is limited to people who reasonably require access for the operation, evaluation or administration of Thrive Connect Succeed programs.
Where practical, identifying information will be separated from evaluation data and participant codes will be used.
9. How Long We Keep Information
Pilot and evaluation records will generally be retained securely for a minimum of five years following completion of the relevant pilot or evaluation period.
Identifying information will not be retained longer than reasonably necessary simply because evaluation information is being retained.
Where identifying information is no longer required, information may be de-identified while evaluation data is retained for program evaluation, continuous improvement and evidence of program outcomes.
De-identified or aggregated evaluation findings may be retained as part of the ongoing evidence and development history of a Thrive Connect Succeed program.
At the end of an applicable retention period, personal information that is no longer reasonably required will be securely deleted or de-identified, subject to any applicable legal or record-keeping requirements.
10. Sharing Information
Thrive Connect Succeed does not sell participants' personal information. Information may be shared with service providers where this is reasonably necessary to operate our website, programs, communications, payment systems, surveys, data storage or other business services.
We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law or where necessary to respond appropriately to a serious safety concern.
Where a school or community organisation participates in a pilot, de-identified or aggregated evaluation findings may be provided to that organisation.
Individual private Field Guide reflections will not routinely be provided to schools or organisations.
11. Third-Party Services and Overseas Storage
Thrive Connect Succeed may use third-party technology providers to operate its website, online learning programs, surveys, email, payments and data storage.
Some service providers may store or process information using servers located outside Australia.
Where this occurs, the location and handling of information may depend on the service provider being used. We will review the privacy practices of services used to collect or store participant information and aim to select services with appropriate privacy and security protections.

12. Accessing or Correcting Personal Information
You may contact Thrive Connect Succeed if you would like to:
ask what personal information we hold about you or your child
request access to that information
correct information that is inaccurate or out of date
ask whether identifiable information can be deleted or de-identified
ask how information has been used.
There may be circumstances where information cannot immediately be deleted, including where it must be retained for legal, administrative or record-keeping purposes.
Where evaluation information has already been genuinely de-identified and combined with other participants' results, it may no longer be possible to identify and remove an individual's responses.
13. Safety and Wellbeing
Thrive Connect Succeed programs are educational programs and are not emergency, medical, psychological or counselling services.
If information received by Thrive Connect Succeed raises a serious concern about the safety of a child, young person or another person, information may need to be used or disclosed where required or authorised by law or as part of applicable safeguarding responsibilities.
14. Cookies and Website Information
Our website or the services used to operate it may collect technical information such as browser type, device information, pages visited or other information necessary for website operation, security and performance. Some services may use cookies or similar technologies.
Where third-party services are used, their own privacy and cookie practices may also apply.
15. Marketing Communications
If you choose to receive news, program information or other communications from Thrive Connect Succeed, your contact details may be used for that purpose. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe option provided or by contacting Thrive Connect Succeed.
Information collected from children through pilot or program evaluation activities will not automatically be used to send marketing communications to them.

If you have a question, concern or complaint about privacy or the way Thrive Connect Succeed has handled personal information, please contact us.
We will take privacy concerns seriously and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
